Your brand. let's get real, your brand is a tab of a series of scribbled notes, bulleted lists, shapes and arrows and underlines among the many tabs already open in your mind. And that is just when you have a concrete and clear image of exactly what your brand is, years in the making. Small business owners, si o no?

If you thought delegation was a tug of war, try delegating your branding material as a creative. In the past I have sat down with colleagues whom have shown me creative work turned over to them that didn’t quite hit the mark. So I asked, “what is it that you’re looking for?” and my response every time after hearing their explanation? “well, that is exactly what they have delivered to you”. Yet exactly what they described they wanted, and exactly that delivered, didn’t exactly hit the mark. Common factor? They all told me everything from the font, coloring, size, shapes...all the way down to thickness of the lines they wanted.

Here’s the thing with creative work, be it branding, graphics, photography, interiors or weddings: too much control suffocates the project. Always.

Find that right person whom you click with (your gut never lies), let them in on your thoughts, your heart and the overall outcome you hope for, and then let them do their job. It helps to work with someone as talented as @frontporchstudioca who took minimal amount of information from me and delivered exactly what we needed on first try. Zero revisions needed. Thank you a million times, Kelly.”
